Vincent Capodanno was a Maryknoll Missionary, and Catholic priest who became a lieutenant in the Navy Chaplain Corps, serving with the Marines in Vietnam. He was known as the "Grunt Padre" and for radiating Christ to everyone he encountered. He served the wounded and dying by giving last rights on the battlefield, only yards from enemy fire. Killed in action, he was posthumously awarded a Medal of Honor for his selfless sacrifice. He is now known in the Catholic Church as "Servant of God," the first of 4 steps to becoming a saint.
